Md. Sahabuddin left Bangabhaban, the official presidential residence, two days after resigning from his post. On Sunday (July 26) at 2:25 PM, he departed from Bangabhaban for his private residence, Green Villa, located in Gulshan, the capital.

Earlier, Md. Sahabuddin resigned from the presidency on July 24. Although he was elected president for a five-year term according to the constitution, he served for three years and three months.

During his tenure as President, he participated in various state programs in addition to fulfilling his constitutional duties. His resignation marked the official end of his responsibilities as president. His departure from Bangabhaban on Sunday also brought an end to his stay at the official residence.

Notably, Md. Sahabuddin was the 22nd President of Bangladesh. He assumed office on April 24, 2023, and resigned on July 24, 2026. Subsequently, a gazette notification was issued, appointing Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed as the acting President.
